Offer: Exotic Chocolate Truffles
book snake intro (me; from The Secret Bo
libitina wrote in con_or_bust
Item Name & Description: 24 exciting (or not) flavoured truffles. In the past I have made earl grey, garam masala, coconut, ginger, ghost chili, and several other combinations. My spice cabinet is diverse and I'm up to try new things. Or, I can offer you pure creamy and delicious chocolate that will be rich and exciting without any adulteration. I use high quality single origin chocolates. I can make vegan truffles using coconut milk.

Starting Bid: $10

Notes: Truffles will be made in a house full of allergens, but I can work with you on your preferences and specifications (or surprise you). March is pushing the limit on weather that is ideal to ship truffles, so I'll be picking the method best suited to the weather between your location and mine. (ETA: Making this more clear, since it's a transitional weather month, it'll be tricky shipping so I'm just as willing to ship anywhere. The farther north you are, the more likely that the truffles will arrive in their best condition.)

Bidding starts Monday, February 21, 2011, at 12:01 a.m. EST (GMT -5) and ends Sunday, March 6, 2011, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Have you done/can you make herb and/or fruit flavored (non-liqueur) truffles?
(Frozen) (Thread)

I work with a ganache center, which is then hand-dipped in a hard chocolate shell.

So I've made delightful laurel truffles. I have not, however, tried fruit flavored ones. Were I to try that, I'd either mix dried fruit into the ganache (which doesn't sound appealing to eat to me) or I'd mix in some jam (possibly homemade).

I do have 2 8-ounce jars left of sour cherries that I canned in a balsamic vinegar & black pepper sauce summer before last... that might make some interesting truffles.

I am drooling already.

$22 for the ghost peppers. We have a Scoville Heat Unit club here at work, so I'm buying a round for my coworkers.

It looks like you've won.

Do you have a flavor in mind, or should I entice you with suggestions?

Just wanted to comment that I've won libitina's truffles before and they're awesome, so people should definitely bid. :D

Aww, thank you. I am touched that you noted it to comment. ♥

I have to confess publicly that I'm late with filling the orser the the person who won thepurpledove auction, but I am very pleased with how the truffle thing is going otherwise.

omg ghost chili. I am seriously swooning.

$15.

Bah, and I did it wrong, of course. Please freeze this reply and don't reply to it. I'll go bid in the right place.
