Find cool things, bargains in Con or Bust’s auction!

Edit February 23: I’ve made a partial list of particularly interesting things, but please browse, as my tastes are hardly universal!

There’s under a week to go in Con or Bust’s annual auction to raise funds to help fans of color/non-white fans attend science fiction & fantasy cons! I’ve added high bids and number of bids (0, 1, 2, or 3+) to the Google Docs auction index. You can now filter the index to show only items with no bids, for instance, by clicking on the drop-down menu below the heading “number of bids.” (You can also filter it by general category, such as “book” or “food.”) Or you can sort the index by by clicking on the hyperlinked headings; click once to sort low-to-high, and again for the reverse.

(If you prefer to browse the posts themselves, you can always check out the tags. Or if you’re looking for something specific, there is a site search in the sidebar.)

I’ve also added a new column to the index, “overlooked 3+ bid items.” These are items that have more than three bids, but that in my admittedly hasty and subjective judgment, are still, well, overlooked—the high bids don’t, as far as I’m concerned, reflect the value of what’s being offered. (If I have failed to list your item, I am sorry for my ignorance! Feel free to make a case for it in the comments here.)

The spreadsheet was updated at 7:45 this morning. I will continue to update it on a regular basis; check the title in bold at the very top for when it was last updated.

Finally: it is not too late to offer something for auction—in fact, I strongly encourage it! Just fill out this simple form; all you need is an email address that will not be made public. I’ll even host pictures for you if necessary. As I’ve said before, anything that’s legal, practical, and morally and ethically appropriate is welcome. Look at your discard shelves, think about your talents, or encourage your friends who’ve been meaning to get around to offering something!
