Originally published at Con or Bust by Martha Wells. Please comment there ( comment(s)).

Item Name & Description: Signed copies of the three Books of the Raksura in trade paperback: The Cloud Roads, The Serpent Sea, and The Siren Depths

Descriptions, reviews, and sample chapters are available at www.raksura.com

Reviews:
The Cloud Roads has wildly original worldbuilding, diverse and engaging characters, and a thrilling adventure plot. It’s that rarest of fantasies: fresh and surprising, with a story that doesn’t go where ten thousand others have gone before. I can’t wait for my next chance to visit the Three Worlds!
- N.K. Jemisin

There’s so much to like here: multiple sapient species sharing a world (or NOT sharing) with complex gender roles, wildly differing societies, and varying technologies. This is rigorous fantasy without the trappings of European medievalism. And most of all, it’s riveting storytelling.
- Steven Gould

Starting Bid: $15

Notes: I’ll personalize the signature for the winning bidder.

“Read it. Give it to your local twelve-year-olds. It’s made of win.”
-Liz Bourke, Sleeps With Monsters

Signed copy of Conservation of Shadows

Originally published at Con or Bust by Yoon Ha Lee. Please comment there ( comment(s)).

Item Name & Description: One signed copy of my sf/f short story collection Conservation of Shadows. You can find the table of contents at my website.

Starred review at Publishers Weekly:
Lee’s short fiction has been lauded by respected anthologists and discerning readers; this fine collection of 16 stories (one original) gives Lee’s work the chance to reach the wider audience it deserves. Of particular interest are “Ghostweight,” whose protagonist’s desire for revenge brings terrible results, and the thematically related “Effigy Nights.” These provide an interesting contrast to the moral dilemma faced by the heroine of “Swanwatch,” whose masters have placed her in a cruel game. As the author’s notes make clear, Lee draws on a wide range of inspirations, using other genre fiction and Korean history as a seeds around which to crystalize stories. Lee’s stories are often dark and tragic, and always worth the reader’s time.

Starting Bid: $10

Notes: Shipping is on me to anywhere reasonable (most nations okay, Mars not so much).

Signed copies of THE DAEDALUS INCIDENT and THE ENCELADUS CRISIS

Originally published at Con or Bust by Mike Martinez. Please comment there ( comment(s)).

Item Name & Description: Get a jump start on the DAEDALUS series with a copy of the first novel, THE DAEDALUS INCIDENT, and an ARC of the second one, THE ENCELADUS CRISIS — both signed by the author.

From the Library Journal starred review of THE DAEDALUS INCIDENT: “Martinez’s debut is a triumph of genre-blending, as steampunk adventure merges with modern space opera. With a cast of superbly drawn characters, Martinez’s title is a mesmerizing tale of two universes that briefly cross paths, leaving both worlds forever changed.”

It’s worth noting that THE ENCELADUS CRISIS isn’t out until May 6, so you’ll have quite the advance preview. Both books feature plenty of dimension-hopping, alchemy and sailing-ships-in-space action.

Starting Bid: $20

Notes: Personalization available, shipping within North America only.

Bidding will open Monday, February 10, 2014 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern (GMT -5); it closes Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. More Information.

Signed UK hardcover of The Eyre Affair (#51/100)

Originally published at Con or Bust by Dan B.. Please comment there ( comment(s)).

Item Name & Description:
When Hodder & Stoughton published Jasper Fforde’s The Eyre Affair they did a trade paperback and a simultaneous hardcover. There were only 100 copies of the hardcover, and each one was signed and included a promotional item (the items were unique as far as I know).

This is copy #51. The promotional item is a label for Goliath Orange Jam (unused). The book has not been read. The jacket has very minor edgewear and also a few very faint spots on the inner side (shown in one of the pictures); the book itself is fine.

I’ll also throw in a first edition UK trade paperback (not shown).

Originally published at Con or Bust by Dan B.. Please comment there ( comment(s)).

Item Name & Description: I know, Harlan Ellison has made a noteable ass of himself several times in recent years. He’s still a good writer, or was, and it’s not as if he’ll be getting any of the money bid on these books.

What we have here:

  • Harlan Ellison’s Watching (movie criticism), the original hardcover with the gorgeous back cover shown (by Ilene Meyer). It’s been read but is in fine shape.
  • The Glass Teat and The Other Glass Teat (TV criticism), 2nd and 1st editions respectively. They have some spine creases but are glossy and clean.
  • Memos from Purgatory (memoir), in really nice condition, signed.

It’s in very good condition.
  • Howard Who?, 1st edition. It’s got some wear and light spotting on the top of the page block.
  • Them Bones, 1st (and only) hardcover. It too has light spotting on the top of the page block but is otherwise very nice.
